The Town of Estes Park and Larimer County entered into an
Intergovernmental Agreement in August 2008 for the formation of the
Estes Park Local Marketing District after receiving a petition for
the organization of the district from the requisite number of owners
of commercial real property in the proposed service area. The
establishment of a Local Marketing District must be submitted to the
registered electors residing and registered within the service area
at the upcoming General Election on November 4, 2008. The
district would be funded by a 2% marketing an promotion tax if
approved by the electorate. This tax would only be collected
on overnight accommodations of 30 days or less. Below is the
ballot language for Referred Issue 5D and 5E.
