Business License Applications
Anyone doing any type of business within Estes Park town limits
is required to obtain a Business License. Municipal Code Chapter
5.20.
Four easy steps to obtaining a
Business License:
1. Select the appropriate application
form
2. Print the form and complete
3. Sole Proprietors must include a
completed, notarized
Affidavit of Lawful
Presence
and a copy of their Colorado Driver's License with the application.
4. Mail the completed form(s) and payment
(instructions listed on application form)
Specific categories are as follows:
1. General: a business, profession or occupation
whose business consists of the selling of goods,
wares, merchandise or providing a
professional service (outside the home). This category also
applies to any non-resident business, profession,
occupation, or professional service. (Non-resident
business is defined as a business whose business premises is located
outside the
corporate limits of
the Town.)

2. Building
Contractor: a business, profession or occupation whose primary
business is in the
physical construction of structures and their
appurtenances.

3. Home: a business, profession or occupation
conducted within or from a dwelling by a resident
(INSIDE TOWN LIMITS) as an accessory use to
the residential use of the dwelling, but it does
not include a building contractor or
accommodation. NOTE: the Home
license category does not
apply to non-resident home based businesses.

4. Accommodations: the leasing, rental or
furnishing of any room, mobile home site, recreational
vehicle site, camp site or other area in any hotel,
motel, guest house, bed and breakfast, apartment,
dormitory, mobile home park, recreational vehicle
park or campground, any single-family dwelling,
duplex, multiple family dwelling or any
such similar place to any person who, for a consideration,
uses, possesses or has the right to use or
possess such dwelling, room, single family dwelling, duplex
unit, multiple-family unit, site or other
accommodation for a total continuous duration of less than
thirty (30) days.

5. Horse permit: Municipal Code 7.08.060(a) -
no person shall keep or maintain a horse within the
Town limits unless such person has a valid
permit to do so.
