What Sanitation District Am I In?
There are two Sanitation Districts in the Town of Estes Park. One is the
Estes Park Sanitation District and the second is Upper Thompson Sanitation
District. Both are separate entities from the Town of Estes Park.
Estes Park Sanitation District boundaries are primarily the downtown area,
along Fall River Road to Nicky's, on Big Thompson Avenue to the Comfort Inn,
along Highway 7 as far as Pine Knoll Drive. If you fall in the above areas you
probably are in the Estes Park Sanitation District.
Upper Thompson Sanitation District boundaries are primarily outside the
downtown area, Fall River Road from Nicky's west, Big Thompson Avenue from the
Comfort Inn east, Highway 7 from Pine Knoll Drive south.
Before finalizing any construction plans, please check with Estes Park
Sanitation (970-586-2866) and Upper Thompson Sanitation District
(970-586-4544) to determine if the property is located in either district, and
also if it is serviceable. Both sanitation districts assess fees based on
fixtures. The Town of Estes Park Building Division requires sign-off from
the appropriate sanitation district prior to the issuance of any building
permit involving sanitation district approval.
